and the show must go on... and on... and on...

a few days away from cleveland really reminds me of how mundane my life has become. the life of the law student, albeit beneficial in the long run, is SO incredibly routine... i'm not sure how i'm not pulling my hair out in utter boredom. really. what do i do on a regular basis?
every day, i get up. i shower and do the daily cleanliness/beauty routine. i go to school early to catch up on reading, i attend classes. i have the same bowl of vegetarian chili served by the same guy at the same window. i even have the same carrel i visit every day, just as the sun sets... where i look at the same set of law reviews sitting on the shelf, have the same worry that i'm not going to be productive (just to proven right 5 hours later), visit the same web pages in the same order, before getting tired of the law school at about the same time every night.
so frolicking about the streets of pittsburgh for 3 glorious days, you can imagine, has put quite a shock to my system.
i think this is why i plan these weekend trips sporadically throughout the semester. some people think i "traverse" around the country too much... but really. without these mini-escapes, would i retain the sliver of sanity that i have left? i highly doubt it.
all i can do is know that i have 2 weeks of hell (think groundhogs day ala bill murray) before i can hop into my car and get away. if i don't have that to look forward to, what do i have then?
thank god for the shortened 13 week semester. i'm not sure i can survive more than the 8 weeks i still have left.
