paul and i just celebrated our first wedding anniversary over the weekend. it seems not so long ago that i was planning the wedding, but it's been over a year already!
to celebrate, we decided to go back to normandy farm and stay the night in their gatehouse like we did on our wedding night. before we went to the hotel, we detoured to the korean bbq and stuffed ourselves with yummy galbi. i was so excited to have a nice dinner with a very good bottle of wine, while not worrying about dressing up (we went in t-shirt and jeans).
the entire weekend was a good summary of the past year, actually.
we took the time to recognize the importance of the day, spoiled ourselves as much as we could, but didn't go so overboard to make a spectacle out of it. low-key, but still really special.
really, the past year has been quite peaceful. even with all the chaos that ensued, when it came to the two of us, we were generally very calm and happy with each other.
the year flew by very quickly, and i'm a little sad that we're not newlyweds anymore. but i know we have a lot to look forward to in the next few years.
we're in the thick of an incredibly stressful time in our professional lives. i'm just glad that we have each other to lean on in these times of uncertainty. and of course, an occasional visit to the korean bbq won't hurt either.
