One of his friends has an uncle who lives right on one of the wine trails, which turned out to be a big plus. We lounged by the lake with beers in our hands, saw fireworks, made smores, and even took a boat ride.
I posted pictures of the falls, which was breathtaking. I was so glad that the big waterfall was still going (thanks to a very wet summer) so the walk up to the trail to the bottom of the fall was totally worthwhile.
The wine tasting was also satisfactory. One of the vineyards around here managed to produce a decent red this year! We plan to go back very soon when Paul's parents come up for a visit in two weeks. Anyway... the pictures:
